<p>Last night I had planned to take my two older children to a festival show.</p>
<p>Instead I spent my time forcing antibiotics down my third child's throat and listening to him cough like some possessed hound from hell. The doctor informed me he had croup, a respiratory infection, a high temperature and a bad cold.</p>
<p>There go my plans.</p>

<p><strong>If you're the dad of a baby</strong>: If friends and family are visiting to see the new baby, ask them to bring a meal with them. It may seem a bit odd but who cares. Finding time to cook healthy food with a new baby is hard work and it's easy to end up eating a lot of crap food simply because it's convenient. And before you know you've put on 7 kilos which is not what you want.
